Making learning to dance fun
Megan Fage
Megan took the school over in April 2020 after teaching alongside her mum, Angela, for 15 years.
Megan did some dancing when she was younger but then moved on to become a sprinter. After University she went back to dancing and due to not having a partner, fell into teaching.
She qualified with the IDTA with her Ballroom Associate in 2010 and completed her Latin Associate in 2016. She has recently gained her Ballroom Licentiate (Dec 2023) and is now moving on to the Associate Freestyle exam. She eventually wants to be an examiner.
Megan Loves to see absolute beginners go from not being able to dance a step to being confident on a dance floor no matter what level they choose to get to. She also enjoys dancing with people for their medal tests.
Megan has introduced children's classes to the County Dance Centre and wants to expand these over time.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE IDTA
Angela started to dance as a little girl in Yorkshire and learnt Old Time sequence to start with. We now call this Classical Sequence.
After getting married and moving to Bedford she found herself teaching at The County Dance Centre. She then qualified in 1984 with the IDTA with her Ballroom Associate and went on to take over the school, which she ran for nearly 40 years. She also took her Latin Associate exams and qualified in the Latin in 2018. She handed the school over to her daughter Megan in April 2020 but still does some teaching.
She loves organising our many social events that go on in the school which include things like our Summer dance. trips to Blackpool to dance in the tower ballroom and more recently, dance holidays to Spain.
